Who can say
why we do
what we do?

Apparently people sometimes
leap off buildings
with no premeditation.

Falling to earth
they never know
why they die.

Thanks for visiting! Here you'll find poems I've written since May 2009, when I began a "daily poem" project. I don't write a poem every day anymore, but I try to put something up two or three times a month, at least.

Ginsberg famously said, "First thought, best thought." I doubt that's usually true for most poets, but there is something to be said for freshness and spontaneity. Yes, these are very rough first drafts, but I hope something worthwhile occasionally leaks through the holes between the defects.
